In
1879 The museum was built for initiative of Cav. Ferdinando
Rubini, with consent of the Public Istruction Ministere, with
authorization to gather creations from the suppressed Convents.
The Cav. Rubini acquired from the state in the 1874 vast places
to the museum , all restructured by the architect Giuseppe
Partini, his is the realization of the gallery of the statues
,(Galleria delle Statue).
The purpose was to valorize the patrimony of art works deriving
from the "duomo", and also to assure to the museum
all the arts found in the disparate places, such as the suppressed
convents.
It is worthily realized with the " Museo dell'Opera",
which is put with dignity in the cultural panorama of the
just united Italia.
In 1930 the Museum was submitted to numerous and important
restructurings.
The greatest attraction is constituted by " Maestà
di Duccio di Buoninsegna" e by the panorama of the city
offers by the "Facciatone".

strately statue of "Nicola Pisano"
